Like in many small cities in Finland also Kotka has a hotel club called Seurahuone, it is located at the Sokos hotel in the centre. Since the previous time I was here in 1998 till my recent visit in the summer or 2004 this place was extended, and now it has few floors, few different clubs inside for all type and ages of people. Music from old 60s to present and the place was total full of people. At some moments I really thought that all the blonde girls from Kotka, Hamina and Karhula gathered at this place Friday night.
Dress Code: Anything goes, at summer, you can even come with shorts.

This is actually the hotel bar at Seurahuone Sokos hotel. Nothing special here, very typical of impolite over drinking Finns, but the location in the centre is good and you can always continue to the hotel club at the same place.

I visited this pub for one drink only, it was rather early and empty at the time I came here. But as long as the time pass more customers came in, mostly young girls. So, just take it to your consideration when you plan to visit Kotka.
Dress Code: What? Something that show some skin of course.

This pub was recommended to me by a local institute principal. Not sure exactly why, but anyhow, this Kairo is a fun place at the north part of the city centre.
