Kristinestad by johnsakura Again I show a different picture. Now the old 17th century church still has its initial features. Here you have a view of the red church and the grave yard and the little nice lanterns. ABout the church itself, well the colour of red is taken from this special dirt that exists all around finland. If you touch the wood your hands will stay red. Leave a Comment

Kristinestad by johnsakura Parmansgatan or the new church was built in red bricks and has this impressive bell tower that opens the upper bell windows to sound the bells. The garden surrounding the church is quite nice and all houses in the Parmansgatan square are wooden typpe houses with lots of different colours. Leave a Comment

Kristinestad Old Church of Kristinestad by johnsakura The Old Church of Kristinestad is indeed one of my favorites in Finland for what I have seen. I still have a lot to see, but I think this will be on the TOP5... This Church called Ulrika Eleonora Kyrka was constructed from 1698 to 1700 and still maitains many of its original details. As I visited it, some recovering was taking place. I think a part of the roof fall down so I think this was like emergency call for the old 17th century church. The church was named after the 17th century Swedish Quenn wife of Karl XI, Ulrika Eleonora. Leave a Comment

Kristinestad by johnsakura This is the view of the river in Kristinestad, this water goes to the sea. In winter time all the river is frozen and boats are kept outside the water. You can go around the river bank and see ots of ports with the boats outside the water. The day I took this picture the sun was shining, and I havent seen the sun for maybe a week so... great experience. Leave a Comment

Kristinestad Ulrika Eleonora Kyrka Graveyard by johnsakura Ulrika Eleonora Kyrka graveyard is very unique. You have old iron crosses from the late 18th and 19th century, and, this amazing old lanterns near the old rock tombs. I found all this with snow which even looks better I think. All the mood chnaged completely. I somehow find cemiteries in Finland quite relaxed places were nothing is really going on and lots of peacfull energy. Leave a Comment

Kristinestad by johnsakura You´ll find this type of old gates inside unique old wooden houses all around Kristinestad. Actually this one was really unique and I guess it should be really old one. This house is located near Parmansgatan Square walking to the new red brick church. Leave a Comment
