Kristinestad Things to Do

  • Kristinestad Ulrika Eleonora Kyrka and...

Again I show a different picture. Now the old 17th century church still has its initial features. Here you have a view of the red church and the grave yard and the little nice lanterns. ABout the church itself, well the colour of red is taken from this special dirt that exists all around finland. If you touch the wood your hands will stay red.

  • Kristinestad Ulrika Eleonora Kyrka...

Ulrika Eleonora Kyrka graveyard is very unique. You have old iron crosses from the late 18th and 19th century, and, this amazing old lanterns near the old rock tombs. I found all this with snow which even looks better I think. All the mood chnaged completely. I somehow find cemiteries in Finland quite relaxed places were nothing is really going on...

Parmansgatan or the new church was built in red bricks and has this impressive bell tower that opens the upper bell windows to sound the bells. The garden surrounding the church is quite nice and all houses in the Parmansgatan square are wooden typpe houses with lots of different colours.

As I visited it, some recovering was taking place. I think a part...

  • Kristinestad

This is the same house as the picture i have shown in the must seen activities for this town. This is an old wooden house near the New red brick church. I like the way the wood looks wet from the weather, it just looks so heavy and medieval.
