The Sibelius Hall with a sound like an instrument Some people say a wooden building can never have decent acoustics. One place that has been proving them wrong since it opened in spring 2000 is the Lahti Symphony's home, Sibelius Hall. As far as we know, it is the only completely wooden concert hall in the world. Immediately after the first performance there, the critics praised it as the best in Finland and after the acoustics had been fine-tuned in the course of last year, Sibelius Hall was being talked of in Finland and elsewhere as one of Europe's finest concert halls. But I couldn't resist going here because the sign says "Jumpers only". I didn't really know where I'd end up and I was back behind the sign quite quickly as soon as I saw that this was the exit out onto the jump!!!! Plus there was a dead pigeon lying next to me which wasn't exactly a beautiful sight!
Take a quick picture as we did ;)
There is an official lookout area with ceilings and everything from where you get scary views which are a bit less scary than the one behind this spot! Leave a Comment

The cafeteria is small and too crowded to serve all the hungry cold spectators. Also they will rip you off with the prices.
Take with you food & drinks, fruits and sandwiches to the competition. You do not want to pay over priced and queue all day long for coffee or something. Leave a Comment
