There is cross country skiing routes all over town, and also small downhill ski place by the border to Tampere.
For beginners that want to learn alone on easy track, go to Golf course, free of charge really beutiful open landscape and easy, under 3km routes.
Recommend.

Nokia used to be one of the villages in "Greater" Pirkkala which was devided in 1921 to South Pirkkala (novadays PIRKKALA) and North Pirkkala (novadays NOKIA).
