Favorite thing: The most famous archipelago of Finland is located in Turku. This beautiful atmosphere is very unique and peaceful, but still well known among traveller's specially the sport ones.
It is easy to get about in the archipelago. Fine bridges, spacious ferries and splendid vessels link the islands together. You don’t really need a boat at all. And if you want you can go by using a sea taxi. For people coming in their own boats important arrival points are the guest harbours.

Favorite thing: The Crash, one of the best band in Finland comes from Turku. The Crash, made by three guys, is quite famous also in Middle-Europe. No wonder, they make good music and a vocalist Teemu Brunila has a amazing voice.
You should check their homepages www.thecrash.com and listen to wonderful songs like Sugared and New York.
Fondest memory: Plus, Teemu Brunila is no doubt one of the sexiest men in the world.

Favorite thing: Sun, music and young people - feel the Ruisrock. Fans of rock music come to Ruissalo every summer to visit the oldest rock festival in the Nordic countries, Ruisrock, held ever since 1969.
Ruissalo is beautiful island, about 7 kilometers from Turku city. Ruisrock is a legend among Finnish people and many things that it's the best festival in Finland. I have been there twice and I have really enjoyed.
Under years Ruisrock has hosted such world-class artists as U2, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, David Bowie, Sting, ZZ Top, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nick Cave, Pet Shop Boys, Blur, Björk, Beastie Boys, Blondie, Massive Attack, Metallica and many more.
Fondest memory: Check good homepages of Ruisrock

Favorite thing: This is not just for the families, it's for everyone. I was visiting there with my big sister and we really have a nice and unforgetable day there, even we aren't so kids anymore...
Moominworld is located by the sea in the sunny town of Naantali in Finland. There are two special islands there: the beautiful Moomin Homeisland of Kailo and Adventure Island of Väski. You´ll also find the Moominmamma´s Doughnut House and Moomin Shop in Naantali Old Town.
Fondest memory: Altough the day was hot, there wasn't that many families... It was a Thursday, if I remember right. There are maybe more people on weekends. Anyway, if you have read Moomins fairytales as a kid, this is a wonderland for you. You'll meet all those creatures like Little My and Stinky.
Mominworld is a islland and from there you can also take a boat to adventure island Väski.
Moominworld is open every day from 8th June to 11th August and weekends 17-18.8 and 24-25.8
Moomin homeisland 10am to 6pm
Moominshop 10am to 8pm
Adventure Island 12am to 7pm.

Favorite thing: ...Turku Cathedral is the mother church of the Lutheran Church of Finland, and national shrine.
.....
It is regarded as the most highly valued monument in Finnish architectural history.
.......
The church was consecrated as a cathedral in 1300, when the reliquary of Finland’s first bishop, Bishop Henry, was transferred there.
Updated Sep 24, 2002
Favorite thing: It's located in the city centre, this cathedral attracts the occasional visitor to drop in for a moment of peace and quiet or to attend an organ concert. The Tuesdays night organ concerts in the summertime have become very popular, with also international performing organists.
...........
...and if you want to keep your options open to the last minute, choose the Turku Cathedral to get married in Finland. The center aisle is more than 100 meters long!
Updated Sep 24, 2002
Favorite thing: ...the river Aura'. AURAJOKI River is loved by the people of Turku and they are drawn to its banks for a leisurely stroll or a brisk walk to work.
.......
The scenery is lovely, and in no time you have covered the two kilometers from the Cathedral to the little ferry which has a cute name in finnish
* LOSSI * and in Turku dialect * FÖRI *!

Fondest memory: this beautiful and slightly crispy day the water of the river AURA was just disappearing in the air as a continuous steam. in the midwinter the sun comes up at 10am and rises over th roofs only for a while - at 2pm it'll already get dark!!! in the very north of finland the day is even shorter than 4 hours. but there is charm in this, the shadows are so long when sun is low, and when it gets dark you have a good reason get cosy and burn alot of candles :))
