Turku Restaurants

Apparently Pauli's favourite hangover munch stop. Some of kind of giant Tex-Mex resteraunt , lots of Tequila and free nachos while you decide what to order.

Favorite Dish: Amarillo Big Burger - double burger so big you can't fit it in your mouth and have to eat it with a knife and fork , also cooked rare which is fantastic as they're normally incinerated in the U.K.

This popular pub is not only a meeting place, but you may also feel the atmosphere of luxorous bank office world of 20th century, before collaption of banking business in Finland. Altough the dignified old bank has disappeared, the building itself - about 100 years old - is still going strong (that we cannot tell about modern houses). Huge old bank vaults deserve now as toilets downstairs.

Read my "jazz by river" -tip on the nightlife section. It´s the same place. I never ate here, but always envied people who did... Food lookes delicious. They have a separate room for those who eat, I´ve peaked in, and it looks fancy, I think that it´s not the cheapest place in town, but might be the best.... try it out and tell me what the food was like!

drink beer out of pisspots :) Very small place, but quite nice and worth a visit! you have to ask someone to explain the joke sign with the button at the exit :)

Wanna eat with angels? If you say yes, this is for you. Wonderful restaurant has it's own style, which is not religious att all, it has born bacuse of love with angles by it's owners. There are angle paintings on the walls and many other smaller angel miniatyrs.

Blanko is a café, restaurant, and club. I generally go there for coffee or something small to eat and to meat up with friends, but they have a full dinner menu too. The food is a mix of italian and asian food, pasta, noodles etc.

The decor of the place is what I like the best, kind of minimalist, grays and purple and some very funky 50s stuff.

A great place for chap but big and delicious pizzas. You pick our own toppings, the cheapest pizza being one with tomatosauce, cheese and one extra topping. It's a very low key, fast food kind of place, but the prices are probably the lowest in Turku. And some say the pizza is the best of all the fast food pizzerias in town. You can eat there or take the pizza home with you.

Favorite Dish: I usually go for a pizza with red peppers, olives and feta... very nice combination!

A small but very cosy and nicely decorated italian 'trattoria' style restaurant. The atmosphere is always warm, the place is usually filled with people, but still feels like your living room. The food is amazing. They have a complete list starting from starters all the way to dessert, and of course the selection of pastas and pizzas is huge. You will definitely find something you like. The best thing is that the prices are defenitely affordable! My pizza, glass of wine (excellent house red!) and dessert came to something about 18 euros, which is definitely not a lot for all of that here in Finland! Especially when it is as delicious at it was!

Favorite Dish: I could die for the mozzarella, tomato & rucola pizza. It's all very authentic italian, and they even have homemade ice-cream. The cappuchino flavor was really yummy!
