The market place is the center of Turku. There is sold fish, fruits, vegetables and flowers. On summer afternoon the flie market is open. It is a common rendezvous place, too. People gather to have a cup of coffee and chatting. Almost all the busses go through the place.
There are lots of restaurants, cafes and pubs around the market place. The information point for tourists is one quarter close to it. Leave a Comment Theme: Food and Drink

The men fashion section is surprisingly large and well-stocked -- this is a really rare occurrence in Finnish fashion boutiques. The ladies section is, as usual, big enough to drain your wallet. Kansallinen Kirjakauppa operates three bookstores in Turku area. The biggest shop is located next to the market hall.
The store is a fresh exception to the chained bookstore landscape in Finland. The selection is good and there is a decent English books section, too.
The prices are par with the other bookstores, but during book bargain weeks (late January and early February) you can make real finds in store. The company is founded by 4 talented young women. It's located near Kauppatori on the way to the Art Museum. They make and sell unique clothes mainly for women, some for babies and different sorts of hand bags. They also design and make clothes on request and fix your clothes if you need to. They're rather new company and haven't mastered their web page fully yet but you'll get the the idea of their products by visiting their web site. And of course don't miss the shop. I don't live in Turku anymore but whenever I pay a visit to the city I will definitely go to the shop.
