Designed by Gustav Nyström, Turku Market Hall was an instant success as it opened in1896. The magnificent building, more than 118 meters in length, 16 meters in width, and 11 meters in height, provided a trading place for 122 local merchants. C. Armfelt, who inspected it, stated that "the building is rather neat and tasteful; well-lit, the interior makes a good impression". The technology used, such as steam heating conducted to the sites trough pipes, was modern and the highest international standards.
What to buy: There are also many handicraft shops, so if you want you can buy some souveniers. Also you can taste some healthy food or drink fresh coffee with some sweet cakes.

When I visited Turku I saw this big local produce market. It didn't just sell fruit and vegetables but also flowers.

Always fresh meat, vedgetables, fish etc. you may buy here. Also, you may have good pizza served by polite waitresses.
What to buy: Vegetables, fish, and all kind of meat, specially reindeer.

Ruokavarasto is a daily shop chain in Turku and surrounding. There I could find Peruvian mandarines.
