There are Rax Pizza restaurants all over Finland including here in Rovaniemi. Not really my kind of place, but when you travel with Germans, they calculate everything, so sometimes the price & quantity win over the quality.
Favorite Dish: Like their TV ad says: Hasta la pizza, baby.

Actually now I'm talking about the best hamburger place in Rovaniemi, Scan Burger! :) Guys who work there are really nice! You can see when they make the french fries and hamburgers, so you'll always have fresh and warm food :)
Favorite Dish: Everything goes down..but the chicken burger is definitely number one for me!! :) +there are other hamburgers and finnish sausage foods so it is typical finnish grill, though the food is better, workers are nicer and the place is cleaner ;)

If the thought of eating Rudolph, Donner, and Blitzen for dinner fills you with horror, don't even bother reading this.
But seriously, you should have a go at eating reindeer meat when you're in Finland. Why? Well, apart from the fact that it is the local delicacy over here, the meat is tender and lean and almost fat free. Also, all the reindeer over here are tagged and protected so they'll only kill the ones to keep the population in check.
I had moose meat the last time I was at Frosunda, Sweden, so reindeer meat shouldn't taste too radically different right?
I was wrong..
Apart from the common lean texture, reindeer meat smells! Especially so, when I ordered two reindeer dishes at a go. Ok I got greedy!
Most Chinese, like me, are particular about the smell of meat but we believe that eating deer meat or lamb is good for surviving cold weather as it is "yang" or heat producing.
I bore this mind and finished the dishes despite the smell.
Favorite Dish: The reindeer hash was better than the pizza, somehow the tart taste of the ligonberry sauce overpowered the strong deer smell.

WOW! In Rovaniemi we have some really good restaurants, and this is one of the best, in my opinion. It's good for everyone, not only tourist, but also for backpackers, because it's interesting and has great, friendly service. It's not usually crowded with tourists, and on the rare occasions it IS crowded, the people are mostly locals.
The owner of the place is really nice. Once we were eating there with our family and there was only one other customer, and suddenly he came near our table and talked with us and played a cool Turkish instrument and also the balalaika.
The place has nice interior. Clean bathrooms and beautiful decoration isn't the only thing, there are instruments on the walls and Turkish paintings and EVERYTHING!! :) It's really Turkish. It has Turkish cloths on the ceilings and walls and.. WHOO!! :)
Now THIS is something special. The owner is a numismatist (collects money from other countries), and he has a huge collection of coins and greenbacks. The coins are glued on the walls (at least if I remember right) and the tables are interesting: he has placed his greenbacks between the tablecloth and the glass covering the table, so that people can see the money while they eat and it's something really interesting to look! :):)
Favorite Dish: The fuuuud is guuuuud. :P Means the food is good. I really like it, they have everything from pizza to different kebabs, steaks and beefs, falafel and other veg food. They have good Turkish desserts and even the wines are Turkish. My own favorite is probably one of the different choises of kebabs... :)

The Rovaniemi Menu includes salmon soup, reindeer steak, and cloundberry desert. Although it is not very cheap, it worth a taste!! There are totally 8 restaurants serving the Rovaniemi Menu and I found the price in Monte Rosa is quite resonable!! Wortha try!!
Favorite Dish: Reindeer steak was so delicious!! I was wondering how it would taste, the dish really gave me a wonderful experience!! And the salmon soup was charming as well!!

The restaurant offers pizza and salad buffet at 10euro. The pizzas where nice. Though not the typical American pizzas they were tasty. The girl at the counter even made special vegetarial pizza for my friend. Lotsa choice at the buffet.
Favorite Dish: PIZZA!!!

Address: It should be on Koskikatu.
This is a standard pizza buffet with various pizza slices available as well as salad and pasta dishes. The price is affordable and beverage is inculded. Refills and unlimited trips to the buffet are all part of the deal.
The pizza is good, but don't go expecting a slice of good old American pizza pie. Seafood is often used as a topping on one or two of the pizza's available so make sure you know what you are eating if you don't like seafood or are allergic to same.
If you travel on a budget and are sick of the same old fast food chains...try this place. Also have a branch in Helsinki near the central train station.
Favorite Dish: Try the laszana...it is rather good!
