I don't like skiing much but maybe that's because I have skied all my life! I really recommend to try skiing. Snowboarding is much more fun but it can be too hard with out a teacher if you haven't been in a slope before ;) You should definitely try also downhill skiing and sledding.
Equipment: You don't have to bring anything because you can rent all the gears you need! :)
