The Arctic Circle is a line on the surface of the Earth, which marks the northern latitude north of which the sun does not rise on the winter solstice or set on the summer solstice.
At the Santa Claus Village the line of the Arctic Circle is printed on the floor. You can't miss it, everybody takes pictures there.

Through Santa's Village goes a white line which marks the arctic circle. When I stepped over the line I experienced a rough wind, much colder temperatures and it started snowing - - no, just joking!

Santa Park is located 1500 meters south of Santa Village. When I was here it was closed due to holidays. How unfair! Santa has to work one day a year only and if I come to town he is on holidays? Grrr... Hope he's around next time.
By the way, the park is very expensive.
Admission:
Adult: € 20.00
Child: € 15.00
Family (6 persons): € 50.00
Santa seems to be quite greedily.

At Santa's Post office is a corner for visitors to write to all beloved at home. If you throw the postcard or letter into the red postbox it will be marked with a special postage stamp.
Will show you the photo as soon as it is scanned

This is the place why most people come to Rovaniemi - Santa Claus' workshop. When I was here (August 25) only a few tourist were around to buy candles, balls for christmas trees, jumpers and gingerbread. I wonder why? The workshop also includes the official post office.

Santa Claus' Village is located north of Rovaniemi. It consists of several stores, cafés, restaurants and Santa's Post Office. The perfect place for someone who loves Christmas everyday. I was here in August, could listen to Christmas Songs and smelled gingerbread and cinnamon tea.

The town of Rovaniemi looks like most of the other Finnish towns - streets are constructed like a chessboard, buildings are modern, mostly two- or three-storied, made of steel and concrete.
The most impressive construction is the suspension bridge, spanning the Ounaskoski River. It is called Lumberjack's Candle Bridge (Jätkänkynttilä) with it's "eternal flame".

In the Summer, the ski lifts on the hill on the other side of the famous bridge are used to bring peopel up and let them Bobsleigh down. I cant remember the names but I remember that its near the three houses with pastel coloured roofs. The view from the hill is beautiul and Bobsleighing is fun as well.

You can learn a lot about finest Finnish architect Alvar Aalto (1896-1976) in Rovaniemi, where he has designed some buildings - about 20 abroad, too. He developed a highly personal, biomorphic architectural idiom, he had taken part in 71 planning competitions, winning 27.
His architecture doesn't belong only to Finns: it's also a cultural asset of european and worldwide significance and design. According to his words, freedom was the highest principle for him and "nature is the symbol of freedom".
This photo (on a photo) was taken at the Art Museum.
