The land of Father Christmas
It's not a cheap trip and possibly I am a jaded traveller but having waited (impatiently) until my children were old enough to appreciate, understand, participate & remember the experience I felt rather disappointed and ripped off! (but the kids bought into the magic & did believe so...)We chose Enontekio because it is remote and we were promised it would not be touristy - a Lapland wilderness! It wasn't "touristy" but if we were in the middle of the Lapland wilderness (and I believe we were) we weren't aware of it because we were confined to a compound.! My dreams of snowmobiling out in the openess were shattered when I sat on my snowmobile and directed it around the circular course!I got my reindeer & husky driving certificates but as I was driven rather than driving I don't think they were deserved.I went to great pains to take the kids letters to Santa who was English and not in the...
