Molly Malone's is my favourit...

by Luigio

Molly Malone's is my favourit pub in Helsinki. It is a Irish pub, and if you like to listen to live music: this is your place. It is good to drink some cyder, when you are iside.... but if you prefear some beer (olut in finnish) or.... you can. If you are italian, don't worry, because one italian man is working in M. M. His name is Claudio, and if you are in difficulty you can ask help to him.The music begins about 11 p.m. and last song is about 1 a.m.If you like to dance, you can go to Lady Moon ( I don't like this place), or to Tigger. This last is a very nice, most popular in the city, but you have to pay to entry. Informal code.

Danipenn's Nightlife Tip

by Danipenn

To be honest I find the night life here a bit boring compared to the places that I used to live (Italy,England,Ireland). The clubs and pubs are really few and not really cool in my opinion, moreover the queues are really long. I didn´t really see a particular dress code to adopt here in Jyväskylä, the important thing is dressing in a nice way if you want to go to any fancy places (like everywhere in the World). I don´t think Fins are very strict in this particular issue.

Helsinki lives nearly round...

by Herttuli

Helsinki lives nearly round the clock. Nightclubs remain open until late in the morning and the partying continues until closing time. Partying suits the Finnish mentality so the nightclubs are usually full. This is particularly evident at closing time when waiting for a taxi is like an endurance sport; you might be in the queue for half an hour. The last revellers disappear from the streets just as the early risers begin to go to work.

Where ever you go out in Finland you have to try the Finnish drink 'salmari'(38%)-shots. It is salmiakki-koskenkorva. Salmiakki koskenkorva seems to be very beloved. Here are few nick names of it: Zalmari, Salmiakki Kossu, Zalkku..Try also the original Koskenkorva and Finlandia vodka

One unique thing about Finland...

by jarto

One unique thing about Finland is the drunk boats. They are luxurious ships cruising from Helsinki or Turku to Stockholm or from Helsinki to Estonia. I call them drunk boats as that's their primary function. You can buy tax free alcohol on the ships and as alcohol taxes are high, you get the picture. The ships are very beautiful. Especially the ones that go from Helsinki to Stockholm. Many of them are made by Masa-Yards in Finland which is one of the leading cruise ship builders in the World. You can find some Finnish made ships even in the Caribbean.

Helsinki pubs and clubs.: Helsinki pubs and clubs.

by atredes

The biggest doormen that you will ever see, like these guys are bulked up like the incredible hulk , although their behavior is a tad less predictable. Easily spotted, like wearing black bomber jackets, gold chains and a smattering of sunbed tan. If in doubt chech out their hair. Usually balding on top ( even though they're only 23 or so!!) due to massive steroid abuse and a diet consisting of bags of protein powder and creatine. The clubs themselves vary considerably. You've got yuppie hangouts like Memphis and Tiger coupled with good drunk spots like Bottoms Up or any crap Pickwick Pub. The main problem with nightlife in the capital is that apart from the weekends its difficult to find anyplace busy , so annoying people becomes a challenge. Granted on friday and saturdays most spots will be pretty much full , enter the place on a sunday it'll be mostly dead. A good place to go for a...

Finns are socializing in the...

by Gili_S

Finns are socializing in the pub or restaurants, after few drinks they also dare to speak English. There are plenty of places in the big cities and few in small cities. Always try many places till you find the one that suit for you. I usually drink only one drink at the place and going from place to place till I find the right company.*I added details in cities sites. Less as possible.Nothing is really formal here, all places are warmedduring the winter and you can leave your winterclothes in the entrance. In the summer, it is like sauna anyway.
