Hailuoto and the region around Oulu are perfect places to watch birds in nature. To make it easier for you there are several birdtowers placed around, from where you have a good view. On the map of Oulu you can make a detailed search for birdtowers: Tourism->Nature Objects->Birdtower

Go to the beach at Marjaniemi, which is located directly on the western side of the island. I have been there on a late winterday (at least everything look winterlike) and it is impressive how the ocean is covered with a thick layer of ice. The area of Marjaniemi offers nice walks in summer. There is a map hanging out at the parking showing the possibilities.
