Favorite thing: Go out to the sea! You can walk a couple of kilometres to the harbour area, but try to go out to Fäboda. Wonderful cliffs, clean (cold) water and sandy beaches. Suitable for a day's outing in whatever the weather!

Favorite thing: Have a stroll in the lovely 'schoolgarden'! The 'schoolgarden' is a fantastic botanical garden in the heart if the town. It's situated next to the high school (which also is a stunning building), hence the name.

Favorite thing: Go on a boat trip to one of the islands. For example Tankkari, the lighthouse island of Kokkola.

Favorite thing: Jakobstad is small enough to just walk around.
By the town market square you'll see the city hall which was built in 1731 (the first one was burned down by the russians in 1714).
