Favorite thing: Go out to the sea! You can walk a couple of kilometres to the harbour area, but try to go out to Fäboda. Wonderful cliffs, clean (cold) water and sandy beaches. Suitable for a day's outing in whatever the weather!

Favorite thing: Have a stroll in the lovely 'schoolgarden'! The 'schoolgarden' is a fantastic botanical garden in the heart if the town. It's situated next to the high school (which also is a stunning building), hence the name.

Best memories are beeing in the summer cottage and swimming in the sea...

Favorite thing: Jakobstad is small enough to just walk around.
By the town market square you'll see the city hall which was built in 1731 (the first one was burned down by the russians in 1714).

Kokkola is the town where I was born... And in September 2001 got married there :) It is situated in the northern part of Finland. Actually somewhat in the middle on the west coast.

Jakobstad/Pietarsaari

So: This is NOT Kokkola, by any means! It's a bit humiliating for a real "Jeppisbo" (person from Jakobstad) to have to go under Kokkola.... :)) (The two towns, lying only 30 km apart, are great...

Honestly, Kokkola is not a very funny city (note I am talking about years 2003-4!). It has a nice old part and a railway station but you are done with those in less than a week. If it were not for my...
