You´ll have to take a boat to get there. It is a good way to see the archipelago too.
Unfortunately, since I don´t live there anymore, I don´t know is there any public transportation.. We always went there on my aunts boat.
The pic is taken from the plane, the island is about where the sun sets in the horizon :)

Kokkola is the town where I was born... And in September 2001 got married there :) It is situated in the northern part of Finland. Actually somewhat in the middle on the west coast.

So: This is NOT Kokkola, by any means! It's a bit humiliating for a real "Jeppisbo" (person from Jakobstad) to have to go under Kokkola.... :)) (The two towns, lying only 30 km apart, are great...
