Paljakka Ski Centre

You should visit Paljakka-Ukkohalla skiing centres. These two skiing centres Paljakka in Puolanka and Ukkohalla in Hyrynsalmi (distance between the centres 20 km) are together a many-sided skiing destination with lots of activities.
In addition to cross-country skiing (250 kilometres of skiing tracks) and downhill skiing (23 slopes) you can enjoy activities like fishing, bowling, riding, dog-sledge driving, snowmobiling etc. In Paljakka-House you can do in-door exercise like wolleyball, basketball, tennis and badminton. Spa Kiannon Kuohut is located only about a half hour's drive by car. You can accommodate yourself in two hotels (Hotel Paljakka and Hotel Ukkohalla) or in hundreds of well-equipped holiday apartments (cottages). I really enjoyed my visit at Hepoköngäs. Not only the drive there through the endless Finnish forests, but also the path from the parking to the waterfall is remarkingly beautiful. Forest which looks very old-growth surrounds Finlands highest waterfall.

The path to the waterfall is well usable for wheel chairs!
