If I happen to be in my old home village during Christmas time, it is an absolute must to go to the Christmas church. This old wooden church is built in 1897, replacing two earlier churches that burnt. Architect: Odert Sebastian Gripenberg.

Full Moon Dance Festival (Täydenkuun Tanssit) is a unique dance festival in Finland, as it appears to be the biggest modern dance festival in the country. Festival is organized annually in July/August, in 2005 the dates are 27.-31.July.

On the lake side

I have spent some time at the lake side cabins in Pyhäsalmi. There is no other sounds, than just sound of bears, moose, and other wildlife - not to forget the mosquitoes, if you are really unlucky.
