On the Vuokatti downhill skiing center, next to indoor snowboarding tunnel, you can try downhill carting during the summer (from June to August).Vehicles do not have motors so all the speed comes from gravity. Safety is taken into account so also younger persons can feel the speed. Only limitation is that you have to be at least 150 cm tall.more
The sleddog center is located near to Vuokatti's downhill skiing center. If you are not interested in long safaries, you can take shorter rides or only meet the huskies. If asked me, seeing the dogs is a great experience itself. You can get your husky ride also during the summer, but in the summer time you should make a reservation beforehand.more

The dancing pavilion of Naapurinvaaran Huvikeskus, Napis, is one of the oldest places to dance in Finland. It's located on the top of Naapurinvaara hill and views are great. About every second month Holiday club Katinkulta arranges bigger happening in Vuokatti. Music of happenings has different themes: like rock, pop, heavy etc. Artists are usually Finnihs but some of them are singing in English.
To other happenings you are able to get ticket from door but for the biggest "little chrismas" party in Finland, Winter open, you have to buy ticket in advance.

Taking a taxi is not cheap in Finland but still it's very wise & reliable way to move short distances for example during the nights in cities. Finnair has 2-3 daily flights to Kajaani which is located 30 kilometers from Vuokatti.Buying a return ticket is always more cheaper with Finnair and if you are flying with Finnair to Helsinki, a connection flight is only tens of euros.Timetables from link below:more
Amazing shoe store.
When you look the store outside, you cannot believe what is inside. Even when you step in you may think that you have came to totally wrong place. But when you start looking and telling the sellers what you want they just dig that shoe for you.
Definitely the place where my shoes are from!

Vuokatti has houndreds of kilometers long skiing track system. Routes varies from easy to hard race tracks. If you have time, take Vaarankylän helppo.
