visit Eguisheim! This quaint, small town, south of Colmar is one of the oldest in the region. It is built around a watercastle, which during the french revolution was reduced to its wall only and rebuilt later.The town, hidden behind vineyards, has changed little since the 16th century. Beautiful patios and picturesque houses with balconies full of flowers seam the narrow streets.
This part of France is so cozy, it has wonderful landscape, many vinyards and romantic villages. It really is an area, where you can relax and enjoy yourself!
Because of its history, people understand French and German very well. Also a lot of people speak english. So it shouldn't be hard for travellers to go round.
Another lovely Alsacian town, I cannot remember which one, but I still wanted to share.
We are in Colmar, where a hatmaker had this beautiful house built in 1537. The Maison Pfister is without doubt the nicest building in the old center.
Ribeauville hugs the hills of the Vogesen mountains, covered with vineyards, which produce excellent wine.
