visit Eguisheim! This quaint, small town, south of Colmar is one of the oldest in the region. It is built around a watercastle, which during the french revolution was reduced to its wall only and rebuilt later. The town, hidden behind vineyards, has changed little since the 16th century. Beautiful patios and picturesque houses with balconies full of flowers seam the narrow streets.

Because of its history, people understand French and German very well. Also a lot of people speak english. So it shouldn't be hard for travellers to go round.

We are in Colmar, where a hatmaker had this beautiful house built in 1537. The Maison Pfister is without doubt the nicest building in the old center.
