Even though you can find good wine and cheese where I live, I discovered that there's a much larger selection of French fine wine and delicious cheese in Wissembourg. So we often combine a sight-seeing and shopping trip to Wissembourg.
What to buy: French wines (red, white and rosé from just about any region of France) as well as different sorts of French cheese (local from Alsace, or from different regions, such as Normandy, etc.) If you're coming from Germany, you'll find a larger and better selection of those items in Wissembourg as well as somewhat lower prices.
What to pay: That depends on the quality and quantity. You'll be able to find something good at all price ranges.

Before you get to the nice little house, you have to pass through a wonderful garden, the "jardin de Stanislas".
In the shop you find very exquisit antiques, tableware, little tidbits - and all decorated in a manner that will make you never want to leave this place again!
