    Arcachon basin

Fondest memory: The basin of Arcachon is a pond that is in contact with the sea. The level of water goes up and descend according to the tides, water is there brackish.
It is one place reputed for the oysters, the molds and the shellfish.
The set of the basin, surrounded many villages of fishers is very tourist.

    Sunset on the basin

    Sunset on Arcachon

Fondest memory: It is possible to attend sumptuous sunset on the basin. That it is since one the numerous beaches, or since a boat on the lake, because the fishers organize some walks, notably in the evening, to see to lie down it of the sun since the middle of the basin.
Since the beaches that give on the ocean, one attends the sunset on the streams, and one can see the famous "green point" then. The last sunbeam, to the surface of water is of a green intense, beautiful, very fugitive, practically impossible to seize in photo, but unforgettable !

    Dune du Pila

Favorite thing: The dune du Pila is the highest of the world. Tourist site very frequented, there is always a lot world, especially the days where it is not fine enough to go to the beach to bathe.

Fondest memory: The natural site to been arranged, not to suffer the number too important from tourists, and also to put to the merchants of the temple to take advantage of the godsend.
Wait therefore for yourselves at a parking lot, obligatory and paying, has boutiques of memories, drinks and sandwiches, before which you will be obliged to pass to return you in top of the dune.
The ascension is not difficult, I even achieved it with people to reduced mobility, without problem.

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: There are miles of golden sand and the combination of sea air and sun is like a mild sedative. If you are staying longer or want to do more - pick up a brochure from the Tourist Information office (right by the train station).
Arcachon has many activities to offer, including; bird watching, boat trips, golf, paragliding, public gardens and various water-sports.

Fondest memory: THE SAND DUNE! :-)
