I always take the line #1 or #2, quite frequent during the day (except Sundays), the cost is under 2 euro. In less than 20 minutes, you'll reach Bayonne. You can get off when you see the River Nive.

Bayonne lies directly at the A63 in the southwestern tip of France. It's just half an hour drive to the border of spain and a 2.5hr drive to Bordeaux.
Bayonne is well signposted along the route, the A63 is a part of the route from San Sebastian (Spain) to Paris. From Spain just follow the route to San Sebastian and Irun, then head for the French border and Bayonne is signposted. Bayonne in France Bayonne is mentioned in Bordeaux already so it's easy to find.

Bayonne is located on the TGV line from Paris Montparnasse to the French/Spanish border at Hendaye. It also can reached by regional trains (TER) from Bordeaux or Hendaye.
The beautiful train station was built in the early 20th century and is located in the Saint Esprit quarter if town. Must city buses depart from here, as do the buses to Biarritz and to Biarritz airport.

Quite a few bus lines run between Bayonne and Biarritz via Anglet. Tickets can be bought at special kiosks or tobacconists or from the driver. The single fare is 1,20 EUR.
The services usually start after 6am and stop around 9pm.

I like Bayonne! It is not as ritzy and glamorous as Biarritz, or has a nice sandy beach like St. Jean du luz. I can take a stroll along the two rivers, or in one of the many gardens. The town has a......
