A near-by town, Domme, is high and commands extraordinary views of the Dordogne valley. We headed there in the morning on a market day, to pick up some gifts and to buy provisions for lunch!
What to buy: Local cheese --- after having a fabulous cheese plate at Hotel Bonnet for dinner, we wanted some of the local cheese which is infused with a walnut flavor -- buttery, rich and delicious. Also, we wanted what is probably some of the best Roquefort cheese you'll ever taste. Couple that with crusty fresh bread, sausage, and some perfect strawberries (and of course some red wine)....ah! Heaven! They let you taste before you buy -- (well, not the berries, but the cheese and sausage). MMMMMmmmmm
