When in this part of France you must go to a chocolate festival or to the chocolate museum and you must definitely eat and buy chocolate.
The nearby town of Bayonne (easily reached by bus) holds a festival of "indulgence" under the auspices of the "Académie du Chocolat" (the association whose role it is to promote Bayonne chocolate). The chocolate makers prepare the chocolate in front of their shops and offer delicious samples of their wares to passers-by. Mmm
What to buy: It is all delicious and I especially recommend the chilli chocolate - sounds weird, tastes wonderful!

Biarritz has some great boutiques, exclusive brands, like Hermes, but also you´ll find some extravagant shops like this antique shop.
