The train station at Biarritz is an easy station to navigate through. The size is relatively small considering the size of the city. The downside is that it is several miles away from the city center. There is a bus that goes from the train station to the city center, however, it makes many stops. There was also a taxi queue with several taxis waiting.

For less than 1 euro there is a local bus that heads from just below the tourist information station to the Gare de Biarritz. It makes about ten stops, but it is comfortable and easy to take. Less than 30 minutes.

Flights from stanstead for four were £152 with ryanair in may. we hired a car which is a must as to stay in biarritz itself would be such a waste. Best deal we found was £110.
Many people walked into the Biarritz itself as its about 2kms away from the airport. there are buses and taxis straight outside. you must rent a car though as youd miss out on saint jean de luz and bayonne and my favourite san sebastian in spain. where you get cheap cigs/alcohol and petrol!

Biarritz is well connected by air to Paris, Marseille, Lyon or Tolouse. And has good highway connections to San Sebastian or Bilbao. But the best way to visit the beautiful Basque countryside is renting a car.

After landing in San Sebastian on a public holiday and being forced to spend the night sleeping rough we thought it best to head to Biarritz in France where there occupancies were not affected by the public holiday.
We caught a PESA bus straight from the DIo XII bus station (the main one in San Sebastian) straight through to Biarittz by buying a ticket at the little booking office near the bus terminal.
On the way back we caught a bus from Biaritzz right through to Bilbao where we caught our plane back to London from. It cost E15 and two buses a day make the journey with the last one getting into Bilbao (via San Sebastian) about 16:30
