My favorite restaurant is called ' Le Galluchat'. It is located close to St Pierre place. There are many different restaurants all around the place and this is definitively the place to go when dining in Bordeaux.
But, whatever restaurant you go in, you won't be disappointed as Bordeaux's food is excellent and you have delicious wines to go with!!
Favorite Dish: I loved to have a 'Salade de Gesiers' or some 'foie gras' to begin, and then a special meat with some good red wine...and I always finished with a good ice cream!!

There are a lot of restaurants in Bordeaux, but do not try to eat before 7 o'clock in the evening because everything is closed. its normal in the south of french to start dinner after 8 o'clock, and this is not handy when you've been shopping the whole day and walking around the city because you get very hungry

in Bergerac (75 km east of Bordeaux): the restaurant of Chateau Monbazillac. located at Chateau Monbazillac (5 km south of Bergerac)
very special: Chateau Monbazillac produces a world famous desert wine, very similar to a Sauternes and - may be - better than many of these. Today most wineries in Bergerac make their own Monbazillac but still one of the best comes from the Chateau itself ---- now the best: if you visit the 16th century castle they let you taste the Monbazillac as well! In combination with the restaurant you can sit on the terrace, enjoying the panorama when you look down to the Dordogne river, drink your Monbazillac ...
Favorite Dish: local specialities, menues can be ordered including the right wines. Menue of 5 dishes including 4 wines start at FF 200.-

in St.-Emilion, 40 km east of Bordeaux: Le Tertre
excellent cellar: not only visible due to a front made of glas but even the choice of wines is great! if you bring the money with you it's no problem to get a 50 years old Chateau Petrus :-))), it's just some FF 50000.- = some $ 7000.-
Favorite Dish: local specialities as duck brest, smoked or grilled, duck and goose liver, truffes. and more and more and more.
Tip: try a menue with 3 or 4 dishes (3 dish menues start at FF 120.-)

YOu will have no problems finding a restaurant in Bordeaux, there are plenty for everybody's taste and pocket. Usually at night you will find young people passing out flyers with the restaurant's special.

I really don't recall the name of this place but located here near Palais du Justice is this little shop selling a nice selection of quick ordered items.
I think we got something to drink here.
