My husband and I were looking for somewhere for a quick lunch. We chose Le Chaudron as the 'Plat du Jour' was Coq Au Vin and normally if one orders the 'Plat du Jour' in France it comes out fairly quickly.
We waited 45 minutes for two bowls of tomato soup and after a further 45 minutes our Coq Au vin arrived. During this time waiting we had seen the other diners who had ordered this dish and it looked superb.
When ours eventually arrived, it did not look like the others. Instead of being chicken slowly cooked in wine for several hours, it was a roasted chicken quarter with a little shot glass of sauce on the side. Naturally, we were disappointed, but by this time starving so decided to just tuck in. When we cut into our chicken both pieces were completely raw in the middle.
We ended up refusing to pay for our meal and left, still starving. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Favorite Dish: Tomato Soup........... at least it wasn't raw.
