On the corner of the town square is one of those boulangerie / patisserie that gets your taste buds going simply by glancing at the delicious morsels, and if you are not looking, the aroma will get you.

Left with few choices of a decent restaurant on a Sunday evening in Libourne, I followed the hotel's recommendation and dined on the terrace by the river at the La Tour de Vieux Port. Fortunately they had some reasonably priced, quality Medoc Bordeaux's in a half bottle. The early July weather was perfect for an outdoor meal. A somewhat limited menu, I settled on the smoked salmon salad and lamb chops in a cream sauce. The meal was properly prepared, but nothing special.
Favorite Dish: The Medoc wine was probably the best.
