LE VERT GALANT, ice cream parlour & restaurant, overviews the river in the the lovely old town of Nérac, south west of France. They offer an amazing choice of over 80 flavours of sheer "gelati" (including 15 savoury ones!).
Can you imagine boletus mushroom ice cream with foie gras and confit of duck on a huge salad, or tomato+basil sorbet with a vegetarian "tartine"inspired by Renaissance cuisine?
The warm and friendly owners, the very helpful staff on top of a translated menu, made our 1st dinner there such a wonderful experience... that we came back 3 times in a week!
Favorite Dish: I am MAD about ALL their ice creams! And the "tartine vert galant" with confit of duck, onion jam, bacon cubes and fresh pear on top of toasted bread with home made secret spread, served with rublochon cheese ice cream!
