Immediately you see Peyre, one of the things that stamps an unforgettable impression upon you is the cliff face at the back and the way the church is built into it as well as some of the dwellings.
I'd scrounged some some tourist map from an information centre and Peyre was mentioned. After checking the Michelin guide it was in there as well so I thought I'd better pencil it in.
Quite apart from its "Beaux Village" status it features the prettiest view of the Millau Viaduct, one of the world's most significant architectural structures.
The view of the bridge is enhanced by the lovely foreground leading up to it which thus makes it even more photogenic.
