You will find a lot of nice shops in Caen. This tip show a selection of them. Their names are sometimes funny, like Le bois dormant (that refers to the tale La belle au bois dormant) as the name of a toy shop.

Be sure to drop into the Monoprix in Caen. Inside this department store is a large supermarket filled with wine, cheese, fruit, sausage, you name it!
When buying fresh produce don't forget to weigh the bag and attach a price tag so it can be scanned through at the check-out.
There are also wine shops around and some definite bargains to be had, sometimes the exact same bottle you'd drink in Britain at half the price!
