The Galerie du Dauphin is one of the best in town, and one of my local favorites over the years.
Right on place Sainte Catherine, can't missed it.
On the link in contact you can even watch a video of it. Great.

    Everbody Loves a Parade

by hquittner Written Dec 11, 2007
    A Band Played

This assemblage of musicians gathered before the Lieutenance (16C building block). We could discern no holiday or funeral. Is this one of the mandatory manifestations of local color for the tourists? We did not follow and know not where they went.

    Colorful fruits and vegetables

Saturdays in Honfleur are an incredibly large market day. Around St. Catherine's is a very colorful and varied farmer's market and it seems the rest of the town center's streets are all filled with an assortment of goods. Clothing, jewelry, knives, trinkets - you name it and you will probably find it here. We strolled through the whole thing and found a small horse figurine for our equestrian minded granddaughter.

Friday night concert in an old salt warehouse

Evidently the first weekend in October is the "Fete de la Crevette et de la Peche" or Festival of the Shrimp and Fish (it sounds better in French doesn't it?). We just happened to be there at that time and enjoyed the festivities. Fresh foods of many kinds on sale around the Vieux Bassin, parades of boats, concerts and an excellent fireworks show. There was a concert on Friday night but the festivities were officially kicked off with a local band in front of the Hotel de Ville. Most of the activities centered around the basin where the parade of boats took place and the fireworks display was enhanced by the reflected brilliance in the waters. It was a family event as we saw parents, children, grandchildren all participating, especially around the merry go round.

With a church like Ste.-Catherine's, it is probably constant venue for weddings. Of course all churches are and we are always visiting them when we travel.
