Also close to the view point is the church of La Pernelle. From here one enjoys a spectacular view along the Normandian coastline towards the lighthouse at Gatteville, along the little harbours of Barfleur and Saint-Vaast-la-Hogue on one side. Towards the other side one enjoys the fields, acres and small forests of Val de Saire. Southwards the view reaches - with clear weather - as far as the D-day landing beaches of Utah.
The church itself is simple in exterior and the interior is beautifully decorated like most Catholic churches.

When one visits the view point of La Pernelle, one also discovers the little grotto (cave) on the hill with a small sanctuary for our dear lady, the virgin Mary. She is watching over the Normandian coast, the fields and acres and above all the people that live here. It's quite a wonderful place that brings silence and peacefulness over every visitor. definately the best place to just say a prayer about anything that goes on in your heart or mind.
