We parked behind the very attractive flower and flag-bedecked Hotel de Ville. It's free parking out of season! Then we walked all over town, down to the shoreline promenade for lunch and back through the rest of the town.
It is really pretty and there were enough shops open to make it interesting, not always true of seaside towns out of season.

When we got to the seaside promenade, they were opening the restaurant Le Mermoz so we entered and got a table by a window overlooking the ocean. With a view like that we didn't care what the food tasted like. Fortunately it was more than adequate and the service was excellent.
Favorite Dish: We got the 14 euro menu with a very nice vegetable terrine in a fresh tomato sauce, chicken in a tarragon-cider gravy, unfortunately with frites but nevertheless delicious. The view compensated for any deficiency in the food. I understand some people like French fries . . .
For dessert we got scoops of coffee and very dark chocolate ice cream. Then we spent a pleasant half hour while I had coffee and we enjoyed the marvelous ocean view.
The coffee was the best on this trip so far.
