This is the restaurant of the hotel Les Paulands. In summer there is a pleasant terrace next to the pool. Prices are reasonable for the area and the food is fine and delicious.
I took the 26 euros Menu Bouguignon:
-Mise en bouche: gazpacho of cucumber. delicious
-Jambon persillé: this is a local speciality of ham cooked with parley jelly. Delicious
-Sorbet of pain d'épice with local ratafia spirit: yummy and refreshing with a good kick
-Burgundy beef stew: well cooked beef pieces with fragrant wine sauce and little onions and lardons together with carrot and celery purées
-Faisselle de fromage blanc with cream: nice taste with that particular local flavour to the cream
-Cassis sorbet with mousse. Blackcurrant is mass produced in Burgundy for teh famous Cassis liqueur. The sorbet was nice and tart, the mousse a bit too compact to my taste but had a nice blandness to complement the tartness of the sorbet.
We had a bottle of Ladoix Serigny with that, a lighter, not too oaky red wine grown about 4 metres from the hotel.
Favorite Dish: The jambon was out of this world, so was the gaspacho, so was the beef stew.Related to:
