Walking in on a Saturday night, we immediately wondered whether we had chosen the right place, as the dining room was only about one-third full (and so it would remain throughout the evening). The décor was amusing to me—very hospitality-industrial: soft colors, a kind of bizarre faux-contemporary Christian element with altars embedded in the wall, some sort of postmodern wooden pseudo-religious centerpiece in the ceiling, amusing to me, but not the kind of character I look for. The service was just okay, again very much felt like a chain in the hospitality industry—some servers didn’t seem happy to be there, others were not all that competent. The wine list was uninspired, quite short with offerings from Burgundy only from major producers that you would likely see almost anywhere outside France. And, again on the amusing side, the pathway that guests follow to reach the bathrooms is akin to going out to the loading dock. Overall no disasters occurred, but for the price and the many shortfalls, I would not consider dining there again.
The food was expensive and variable in quality, a few dishes in the set menu were quite good, but some classic Burgundy dishes were quite tired and others (including my main course) obliterated by oversalting. The set menus ranged in the 30 and 40 euro price range.
