Auberge Bourguignonne, Beaune

We had very busy day exploring the Beaune area searching for chateaus and an abbey so we returned in the evening very tired. We decided to eat near the hotel and use another of Madame Grillon's recommendations.

We got the 18.50 euro menu, the cheapest and it was delicious. There are several other menu choices and you can order a la carte if you like. Hard to fit into the price ranges below because the range is 18.50 euros to 46 euros so less than average to slightly above average in cost.

It was fairly late and rainy so I didn't get a photo. I'll try for one next time we're in Beaune.

Favorite Dish: Following is my journal entry for the meal.

"We parked at Place Madeleine and crossed to the Auberge Bourguignonne for a terrific dinner. It was early so we got a kir and received an amuse bouche with it."

"We started with oeufs meurette followed by cuisse de carnard in a mushroom sauce and potatoes. The cheese course was fromage blanc and by then we were so stuffed we each got a small ice cream for dessert."

Having splurged the night before, we got a less expensive menu on this night. It still included a cheese course and we literally waddled out after a delightful 2.5 hour dinner.
