Favorite thing: Noyers-sur-Serein is called "one of the most beautiful villages of France".
Noyers is a medieval city with 13th, 14th, 15th centuries half-timbered houses with sculpted pinacles and corbelled constructions. There are plenty of simple wonders in Noyers, which can be discovered at the turn of a little street. It gives the city a particular atmosphere.

Favorite thing: Rising on a plateau, along the meander of a river, Noyers-sur-Serein shows the medieval face of a fortified city.
Noyers-sur-Serein is still protected by its walls and 16 towers. You can enter through 3 fortified gates : porte de Tonnerre, Porte Venoise, Porte Peinte.

A well preserved medieval village
With its medieval timbered houses (mostly fro the 15th century), Noyers sur Serein has been classified 'One of the 100 most beautiful villages in France', and yes, it's a very pretty one.

Plus Beaux Villages is a designation by the French government for small villages that are extremely picturesque. They must apply, are evaluated and the standards are quite strict. We love to search......
