Most villages or towns have a market day, some have 2 per week. It is very often on a Friday or Saturday. We did visit a few, some good, some not so good. The fresh produce is always very good and worth buying. The market in Cluny (on a Saturday) was very good.Usually starts at 08h00 and finishes at 14h00. Fresh produceRegional specialities

  • Patisserie

As you would expect there are many, many patisseries in Burgundy (and France). There are many which are outstanding, but I would like to reccomend this specific shop in Beaune. It has a wonderful variety and fantastic quality. It is more expensive if you sit down at the salon. It is a beautiful shop. Creme brulee! ETC ETC ETC

  • Wine

To shop for wine might be quite difficult. You are spoilt for choise. It might be a good option to go to a cellar and taste and buy. We had very good experiences at all the cellars we visited.I will mention a few (see shopping tips). Wine, wine, wine A very wide range of wines at very different prices!

  • Of course, in Dijon...a little Grey...

Mustard shops line the main street for the tourists. Of course none were open on the Sunday we were there. Window shopping is really my favorite activity, anyway!

  • High end modern design in Dijon

Window shopping this part of town was divine -- especially with the antique dealers spilling across all the streets. With all the reflections in this window, half timbered building across the street, etc -- can you make out that really great acrylic chair!

  • Antiques Market on Sundays in Dijon!

It was a lot of fun to wander the streets looking at everything from antiques to flea market stuff...
