    buses to and from Auray

    Le Divennah bus depot Brech
    2 more images

there is a small auraybus service in town, and then the train, but to get by in a bus here you need to use the department of Morbihan bus service.
This is bus no 1 that goes into the beach areas of Carnac and Quiberon, passing by Vannes. And bus No 5, passing into inland Morbihan from Baud all the way to Vannes passing by Auray with several stops.
The no 5 is used by my kids for school and the timing is not that good for visitors as not too frequent; the company that handles this run by the department is Le Divennah.
the photos are from their home base in Brech.

best parking is by parc Keriolet, there is a section closer to rue du barre that is blue disk (you can get one at many tabac stores) they have blue lines, or a bit further back they are white lines parking for free
Its the one I use when coming to city center for errands.

of course there are many others such as parking de Loch , name after the river that goes by here, and just near pl notre dame.

entrance to store Norauto Auray porte Oceane

Well hope doesn't happenned to anyone, and I have been lucky with newer cars, but in case you need car repair service, the Norauto at Auray is perfect. Its where I do my routine maintenance, and it is right off the expressway N165 at the exit to Carnac and Quiberon , great beaches and megaliths stones of fame.

You get off from the N165 at the exit Auray,Carnac,Quiberon, stay on right hand lane and go into Auray, at second roundpoint turn right at the second street, and on the first one turn left, the Norauto store is at the back on the left hand side.

    parking Keriolet city center Auray
    4 more images

very easy to drive as coming from the free road N165 (nantes to brest line) you go in to Auray at the exit sortie D765 to Auray centre, immediately into city center you see the parking Keriolet at place du keriolet, the more away from main street it is free and walking is just five mins more....

or along rue de la terre rouge direction St Goustan, right at rue St Fiacras and walk down following panels signs to the Le Port.

you can park at pl de la republique and walk down to St Goustan. Or by the Stade du Loch follow centre ville then rue de Chateau down to St Goustan.

A bit further but still walkable about 15 mins to city center is by the train station at Auray, on the extreme north turning right coming out of station along the rails there is free parking on grass and stone.

any details let me know, I live here.

    Auto Train as it was

by gwened Written Feb 11, 2012
    nice offices still there

auto train services is no longer available since 2010 for lack of profits. It is a shame as it would have been great due to the needs for car in smaller towns in the area.
Now its just anecdotoral note to share for old times sake.
