Océanopolis is not just an aquarium. It is a full blown marine life museum. Divided in three parts, for temperate, polar and tropical climates. Kids can learn all about ocean life while having a lot of fun. Make sure you don't miss the penguin feeding time.

Like canoeing, kayaking or rowing? Well then go to the swampy area of LA GRANDE BRIERE. I am sure you will like it here. There are several nice boating routes that can keep you busy for a few hours or a whole day :) There is more in my TRAVELLOGUE!

If you are near the Normandy region, you must visit the American Cemetery. It's a most touching experience to see not only sooo many white crosses but the actual beach where D-Day took place. I had students with me here and literally had to drag the boys back to the bus to leave.
Before going, watch the movie Saving Private Ryan

Visit the harbor of St. Malo smell the salty air, eat some mussels and french fries. This intriguing region is like no other in France. It was invaded by Gauls, Celts and Romans. The French did not rule it until 1532. Even today, the area of Brittany retains a language and culture more like the Celtic-based Welsh and Gaelic than the French.

Visit the ancient walled city of St. Malo which dates from the 12th century. Take a stroll around the ramparts for a breathtaking view. The center of town is named for the Romantic novelist, Chateaubriand, who was born here in 1768. His tomb, accessible only at low tide, is located on nearby Grand Bé Island.
