If you enjoy fishing ,or are a novice but fancy a boat ride and fishing trip, you can take one from Rive Droite in the Harbour.
Near the Port Office look out for the distinctive bright yellow board with details of Promenades en Mer.
I overheard a young couple - honeymooners I suspected - ringing to book a fishing trip after seeing the board in front of the Port Office. The husband was not all that keen - I hope they had a smooth sea.

A small fish market sells the catch of the day on almost every day of the week. It's a laid back affair but if you are in the area and self-catering worth visiting. It has always been mid- to late afternoon when we have been there - but the time may shift with the tides.
Needless to say the fish is as fresh as can be. We have not always been able to recognise the fish caught and sold there but have enjoyed taking it home and cooking it.

All kinds of unusual vessels may be seen sailing the waters around this coast so it pays to be on the look-out. When we noticed a small group of people peering out to sea near the harbour wall we joined them and saw the object of their attention even with the naked eye. Binoculars revealed what John, and the locals, decided it was a three-masted barque in full sail.
In the falling light of a late afternoon in October it presented a lovely silhouette on the horizon with a hint of mystery. So remin on watch - you never know what may come into view.

At busy times of the year I imagine the traffic through the village can be very busy..
There is a modest sized car park on Rive Droite - you can just see it on the left i n the first picture.
The large building in front is the back of the Cooperative Maritime - a rather nice shop entrered from the carpark - selling clothing and all things to do with boats and the sea..
The Building on the right marked Cafe du Port has a somewhat run down air, and has never been open when we have been there.
To get to Rive Gauche you need to drive back up the road, passing a small hotel/ restaurant, set well back, on the right.
Follow signs to Rive Gauche and take the bridge to the other side. Parking is more limited over here. In May, early July, September and October we have usually found on road parking near the slip-way, in front of the old canning factory, almost as far as the Pink House in Picture 2.
According to articles in the local press it seems there are plans to do something about parking and traffic flow through the village
