a very nice cafe brasserie place , great looks over the people passing in the quais des indes, right at popular pl jules ferry, and facing the street with glass enclosures.

The food is good, and the ambiance, drinks and especially at night are awesome; with great friendly service.

live music at nights and open from 12h (noon) until 02h
for the youngs like my sons, it is great, safe and lively.
The decoratin is from the Elvis Presley main years or 50's and there is sporting events shown, which is my take.

Can also be classify as nightime but since I have only come here for the apero, and few drinks with lunch have it in restaurant.

Favorite Dish: sandwiches, amuse bûche and plenty of nice cold beer, wine and cocktails to get your day going.

This was the old rotonde now under new management , and it shows the improvement and the look. We decided to try them now, after missing the old one, this one look better. Nice black tables and brown chairs, great uniform personnel, and great friendly smiles even the owner came out to meet us.

We arrive almost by 15h and they still took us in and we have a great service by the young staff. Very well done, fast and friendly and just what we order. The place was in the terrace which they have on the side of rue du port and on the place aristide briand.

The food was well done as requested and the beers cold !! Update, they have a new service open in the evenings from Wednesdays to Saturdays starting December 4th 2013 ,open until 23H
and getting special menu for the beaujolais nouveau arrivals Nov 21st!

Favorite Dish: we have usually the menu du jour but this time we took the carte, i had the burger carré well done, and big with salads, or you can have fries; we have rumsteak steaks , tortellini with beef, and a huge chicken curry salad, all with ice creams dessert from pear and rum call the guillimine, and plenty of beers grimbergens blonde and blanche plus the diabolo menthe, all for 110€ great deal

    Flunch: a family place flunch

    Flunch resto at Keryado

This is a chain all over France. Its cafeteria style ,with most things done ,and then you order your main plate, get your extras like ice creams etc,and coffees .Not the reason you come to France for ,but if with a family or large group is an inexpensive way to have a good meal on the road.

The ambiance is very family oriented, and nice friendly local folks as well as visitors. They are usually around shopping centers and near main roads. So we were, are on the road a lot and when with my family we do use them once in a while.

The one here in Lorient is on the outside of city center, and near the N165 to D465 road beltway to the D765 on a shopping center K2. Keryado.

Favorite Dish: we had a quarter bottle of wine, bottle nestlé water, breads, cheeses, entrées from cold meats, and patê of campagne pork, main dish were from mini steaks to breaded fish, with extras such as fries and mashed potatoes, desserts from fruit pies to banana splits, and coffee for five for 88€ or 17.6€ per person or about USD 22.70 pp.
of course again the food is cafeteria style so don't expect nothing fancy here.

La Taverne de Maitre Kanter: seafood and Alsacien

This is an independant chain in France with a deco and cuisine of the region of Alsace. The one is Lorient is in an old building in the pl Aristide Briand ,the center of it all in Lorient.

It has wonderful views over the plaza and a terrace even in use from today. The service is a bit slow for our old habits, the service overall was good, but the food is delicious and great menu choices.

It is open every day from mid day to mid night. You will love the Alsacien belle epoque decor inside. We tend to try them on every town we visit and never failed on the food or service.

Favorite Dish: we have the choucroute bien sûr but also the Flammekuches Kanter, and Munster cheese, hamburger kanter (huge) two steaks bavettes or flank steaks; entrées we share two dishes of saucisson cuit with a potato salad.

we had apéritifs bien sûr of kir breton (cider and raspberry liquor), porto red, suze, campari, and martini blanc (white). For the food we had a bottle of Rieslings Willm from 2010.

we finish with dessert of banana split, chocolat liégeois (2),and 2 coupe maitre kanter ice cream mix.
    all for 138€ for five
