a wonderful huge submarine old base now you can go inside the Flore submarine of the French navy,and get up to tour Davies, and see a nice submarine museum with interesting films. This was the old base of nazi submarine atlantic fleet ! And the place is hugely impressive to see now.
After WWII the French navy took over until 1997!. The all black submarine Flore now there is a 800 tons submarine that serve in the cold war and after unti 1995. You will go down to see how is life inside a Daphne type submarine, and the showcase of todays technologies with a huge movie projection at the end
You will have a guide take you to Base Bloc K3 to see how it was during WWII. The visit to the place is limited to 35 persons at a time and from 10H it departs every 40 mins. To see the Flore cost 8,40€ for the museum and submarine is 11,80€.You can buy a combine pass for Flore submarine, museum and K3 area for 16.30€
on the old submarine bases here a wonderful edifice was built with the help of the Villette of Paris. There is a permanent exposition,nto 3 themes, men and ocean, the sailboats=conception and building, and the navigation. Great films very educational and expo on the Volvo 2012 race, and interactive themes that actually show you how to do it, sailing that is.
In front there is a boat class America with a coque of 25 meters, wonderful all black impressive.
It is open every day from 10h to 19h , general admission is 11,90€
you can come here in batobus from Port Louis or by bus from the Gare d'échange (behind the train station or gare SNCF). TAke line 21 direction "Lanester-Jardins du Blavet / Lorient-Port de pêche".Descend at stop or arrêt "Base des sous-marins".

Oh, you absolutely MUST see megalithic stone monuments in nearby villages of Carnac and Kerzeho! Really amazing view I tell you!
