    This is in France, in St. Brieuc but the food is most definately Italian, which I love......

    You can watch while the cook is baking your pizza (after the amazing show of how to make a dot of dough flat and round!) on a real charcoal fire and the smells are mouth watering.

    LA PROUE means the stem / prow of a ship.



    Favorite Dish: I love every Italian dish but very often take gnocci or Lasagna.

    And after that: the most tasteful real Italian ice cream, a SORBET for me, please.....

    Open: Mondays afternoon and the kitchen closes at 11PM on Saturdays.

    LA CROIX BLANCHE means THE WHITE CROSS, that to start with.

    Martine & Michel MAH? run this business for you and me and lots of others.......

    It must be great and fine because the restaurant is in LES GUIDES GASTRONOMIQUES.

    There is a completely new reception
    extra comfort because of its location: in a Countryside Park



    Favorite Dish: They offer business lunches
    Dinners for families and larger groups who e.g. have to celebrate something special.

    The restaurant is airconditioned, which is very pleasant....

    It is situated in CESSON, the suburb of Saint-Brieuc where friends of mine live, see my pages......Bretagne etc..

    Madame Brigitte et Monsieur Thierry Martin will do everything to treat you to the finest dishes...

    Their "nick name" is: THE HOUSE OF FISH AND SHELL-FISH"

    Their speciality is that they have the special wines that go with the meals their guests order.......



    Favorite Dish: There are 3 large rooms/halls and....a terrace where you can enjoy your meal in lovely sunshine and smell the sea......as an extra aroma to your fish-dish.

    Again, I could lead your there with my eyes closed because when there I have to pass de rue du L?gu? several times per day.

    I always am in for a fine hot cr?pe ou une galette.

    There is a difference between those two snacks........see my Bretagne pages......
    and don't be afraid to RATE.....

    You can enjoy whatever you will choose there or you can take it "home"

    Here you can go for a fine luncheon or dinner in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

    There is a nice terrasse where you can enjoy the fine food in the lovely sunshine, food like "GRILLADES AU FEU DE BOIS" meat prepared on charcoal fires....

    The atmosphere is warm and you will be welcomed in a friendly French way....

    And this place: c'est COURTE-PAILLE......NO DOUBT.



    Favorite Dish: Courte Paille: means THE SHORTEST STRAW from the proverb: drawing straws.

    OPEN: all year round 7 days each week, which is great from 11AM till 11PM.

    I haven't been here yet because it is absolutely new but it sounds great.

    They serve GRILLADES AU FEU DE BOIS and PIERRADES viandes et poissons, which means that they serve meat prepared on charcoal fires and meat and fish which you can bake yourself on hot stones...which I love!



    Favorite Dish: They are OPEN during afternoons and evenings but not on Mondays...

    There place is open throughout the year and only closed on SUNDAYS, their day off!

    Their specialities :

    RACLETTE (SWISS CHEESE DISH)

    GRILLADES

    PIERRE CHAUDE: meat/fish baked on hot stones...

    Monsieur JACQUES CHARPENTIER who is an ARTISAN, is the owner of this nice CR?PERIE, SALADERIE AND SNACK(bar).

    After you have been able to make your choise he will bake the cr?pe you ordered while you are there and can see and smell it.......



    Favorite Dish: You can also order them e.g. by telephone and pick them up because that is what he also bakes: cr?pes to take away on Mondays up to and including Saturdays.

    120 different GALETTES et CR?PES TRADITIONELLES

    50 SP?CIALIT?S - salades.....



    Favorite Dish: Only ten minutes (by car) from Saint-Brieuc next to the Highway direction RENNES.

    And take it from me: a cr?pe is wonderful each moment of night and day......
