Something ABOUT L'HISTOIRE DE LIN.
Linen is a natural material of which the history goes back to the Stone Age.
Grown in the farmers' own fields, water-ret in the nearby brook/stream it then is made glossy and flat at home.
For a very long time it has been an important part of the Breton family customs, taught by mothers to daughters.....
The Area Le Tr?gor has the ideal climate to grow linen.....
This industry of linnen fabric in the West knew its height in the 17th and 18th Century.
The fabric was processed at Saint-Brieuc, Quintin, Moncontour, Uzel, Loud?ac and in Pontivy and Josselin.
The 14th of August 1676, there came important new Rules which gave the linen from the West its quality mark.
Les Bretagnes became the best-known region for Linen in France and it was exported to other parts of France and to Saint-Malo or Nantes to Spain and from there to THE NEW WORLD as America was called at that time!

This is a very special Italian shop, called GOURMANTISSIMO.
It really is unique in the Departement of St. Brieuc.
It is an "epicerie italienne" ALESSI, which means that they sell all kind or herbs and spices from Italy!
It also is an Italian "traiteur: which means that they prepare food/dishes you order e.g. for a special occasion and will cook it at your home or bring it ready.....to be savoured.
You feel in Italy when you are in this shop, the smells, the colours, the language you hear, the delicious dishes you see and can order and yes, it is unique....
whatever you love to prepare your own italian dishes at home......or special cutlery or crockery e.g.
Tools to make your own spagetti etc..
And....they speak Italian or would you prefer to be approached in French??

The name of the shop makes it clear that is has something with Ireland, see the Shamrock!
And yes: they doo sell the finest Beers from Ireland and Bretagne, Whiskeys and more...
It is an independent shop which also sells food, presents, books, stationary, CDs and even more!
They do warn their customers not to drink too mych alcool because that surely will damage their healths because it is dangerous.
I take it for granted that you never drink-drive!
Whatever appeals to you and what you can pay for and who the lucky one is whom you are going to surprise....
