This brasserie pizzeria was always bypass by me and finally decided to go in and eat here. It is Inside the Carrefour Vannes shopping center just at the main entrance with a terrace on the side.
The ambiance is very family ,and many small children and parents do come in. The bar is clean well place at the entrance tothe main door of the mall shopping gallery, and has a side external terrace given towards the parking of the shopping center.
The service was friendly and fast, very nice. The pizzas was not the best Ihad but will do, for a family on a budget passing by the place is good
Favorite Dish: steaks of German beef origin, croque-madame sandwich, and a milanesa pizza with ground beef and peppers, all wash down with loburg beers , Orangina, and sprites, plus cafe gourmand or coffee with small varie sweets. for five persons 75€ , good value/
very nice right on top of harbor Capitanerie or harbormaster office, open to all. great views over canal and city center, as well as Gulf of Morbihan. Great efficient service, wonderful guests, and the manager very friendly and talkative guy, even we share the same football team hehehe
the food is varied from beefs, seafood, fish, salads, but we love our huge burgers, so come on in folks, the terrace is superb.
We go here often but today was special as my boys decided to celebrate their 20th here. Wonderful, and they got coffee mugs as gifts!
Favorite Dish: we try for the first time, because we will be back, the burgers, fries, banana splits, and good provençal rosé wine. All done good, and big quantities.
great fish of the day dish, fish soup, and banana split, again with great breizh mojitos and wine from Rioja Spain !!!
This is family cafeteria with great prices, reasonable food, that is good for a rainy day in a hurry. Its the basics. a bit disorganise serving sequence but friendly service.
The food is cafeteria type, from a major hypermarket chain in France, CASINO. The restaurants are usually next to the supermarket but not all. Here it is big, and plenty to choose from very inexpensively;so passing with a family is a good bargain.
You have the desserts area, then the salads, the drinks/wines; the cheeses, and cooking areas for grill, mixes fromthe oven etc. you go thru cash registers, ask for ice cream and coffee you will be given paper coupon for the ice creams toget later and coins for the machine operated coffeemakers.
The eating area is ample and clean, very nice people watching too as the all glass enclosure takes you into the parking lots.
Open Sundays to Thursdays from 11h30 -14h30 and 18h30- 21h/Fridays and Saturdays from 11h30- 14h30 and 18h30- 21h30. IN summer, the hours of closing are longer 21h30 in weekdays and 22h Fridays and Saturdays.
Favorite Dish: steak and fries, plenty of cheeses and cakes, plus bordeaux red wines, just the basics.
This is a very nice decorated bar brasserie with old newspaper clipping and radio gadgets of old. the folks inside are very friendly talkative and just made for a wonderful ambiance; Its been weeks months that I passed by it and always think of going in but,,,,so many choices,,,finally stop by and glad I did. It will be one of our favorites here.
The place is in from the street in a plaza with other businesses, but right off the roundabout of the shopping center carrefour and once turning left into rue Théophraste Renaudot on your left hand side.
You enter thru double doors, and find yourselves in another world on a typical bar brasserie serving the good French/Breton food and pizzas, with good beers like the now on leffe de mars or spring leffe beer of Belgium. no webpage but worth stopping by.We come here often...
Favorite Dish: we have two orientales pizzas with chorizos, and one chicken (yes in English) and kebad, a calzone, with 2 cafe gourmand (with sweets like apple tarte tatine, financier, chantilly with chocolate, expresso coffee, and 3 banana splits.and five leffe beers (two rubys and 3 spring beers.)93€ for five a good price.
As pizzas goes there like medium size and loaded, well made European pizzas.
This is a local resto, only the very best from the farm, done by a couple Les Oliviers ,that are keen in giving you great service, wonderful food, and choices. It is well view by the local people and me working in the city went along with colleagues to taste it.
It is unassuming the front door, rather dull, but inside is heaven, great welcome by the owner chef, and great food; always fresh from the market. The setting is rustic with small tables of two chairs, and the owners take charge .
recommended for a special meal with family, good friends, or romantic interlude. no photos ,it was on business trip.
Favorite Dish: I had the medallions of bar, fish, in special salty butter like sauce, as the main dish
entrée was the medallions of foie gras, all along with a great white chablis wine, and a tiramisu to kill for it, plus coffee expresso.
This is a chain all over France, that claims to be a steakhouse. The resto is fully decorated with American Indians artifacts and posters; and the dishes have a distinctive American touch at least in the word names.
The service is very friendly, and the prices are correct. The food is well made but again not the steakhouse Americans are expecting; this one is scale down a bit. For families is a good value.
It is very easy on and off the expressway N165 Nantes-Brest and on the Vannes Kiceo bus service no 5 from Pl de la République to stop Luscanen
Favorite Dish: we have the rumsteak steak, house burgers, with ice cream 3 scoops , a glass of beer 1664, california zinfadel rose wines with an opening green salads, breads, tap water ,and a San Pellegrino gas water all for 74€ for five persons!!! great value.
This is carrying the Breton tradition of galettes (black wheat) and crêpes (white wheat), the first one with food and the second with desserts. The resto is in a nice entertainment area full of shops stores and plenty of restos and bar. Atlanville just coming out of Vannes on the D779 from the expressway N165
The restaurant of course is set up like a créperie, with all menu from local delicacies. Service is nice dress accordingly Breton traditions simply. The food is well made and prices are within range of anything else.
If coming from the beaches and city center is packed this is the place to come to eat quietly. Continuos service from Sundays to Thursdays 11h30 - 22h30, Fridays and Saturdays from 11h30 - 23h
Favorite Dish: traditional galettes of st jacques and cheese and ham, with the crêpes banana chocolates. and of course ,cider brut and doux.
well nice clean area, friendly service, easy parking, bus stop guy lussac , nice family ambiance, free wifi ,internet, big screen tv, and wii games in a cafe style big bucket seats set up. They serve breakfast from 8h. open until 20h and includes Sunday.
Favorite Dish: sandwiches, soft drinks, and especially great coffees.
This is a chain of pizzerias and Italian food restaurant all over France; been not a good fan of chains, at least for pizzas this one is the best in France as far as chains are concerned.
The service is nice, the food is well presented, the prices are right, and plenty of free car parking. Cant ask for more. No reservations are needed unless with a big group.
how to get there see Plan d'accés
hours are Mondays to Sundays from 11h30 - 14h30 and 18h30 - 23h00
Favorite Dish: pizzas from chorizos to four cheeses, try several over the years all well done.
The place is like a meat cutters store, as boucherie, and nicely decorated in western country style. The service is nice, and the food well presented and fast.
nice family ambiance in a nice area full of shops and restos. If looking for steaks this is as close it gets to been in a USA steakhouse, for example.
La boucherie is a chain resto and it has properties in different locations in France.
Another trip and great fun ambiance, with excellent service, we had all steaks of different cuts.
Favorite Dish: steakhouse so steaks are in order, the entrecôte 250 grms is the one I take, of course cant compare to the big juicy USA steakhouses but it does the job if want to do steaks here
again try the entrecôte des forum at 300 grms with poivre sauce or pepper sauce better.for a second look
Part of the Mercure hotel but independantly open this is the ambiance of a real turn of the century French brasserie, full of woods and copper fittings, great painting and posters of theater and cinema greats, and great French service.
The place to be in the area when traditional French is calls for. The area in the parc du golfe is fantastic setting, and when you combine, French, old world charm, and good service you are in heavens. Nice lower price lunch service now on.
A must especially if dinner is in mind
hours are Mondays to Saturdays from 12h to 14h and 19h to 22h, Sundays from 12h to 14h, the evenings is done in season like summer.
Favorite Dish: There is a fixed menus from 17€ to 43€, and plat du jour or meal of the day, there is an ardoise or black board with the specials of the day posted on each table. Today i had the porc roti en aigueilles, tagliatelle lardons, and cafe gourmand all wash down with a heineken beer as it was lunch, rather leave the wine for dinner, a personal habit.
New pizza service added for lunch with very good prices as low as 6,50€ for the margarita cheese pizza. to 12,50€ for a calzone or the Pêcheur (fisherman)
This is an economical simple cafeteria bar PMU inside the Leclerc hypermarché that I shop. It is at the end of the cash register and end of the commercial center. It has a nice comfy entrance with a sunny terrace in the back.
The place has TV screens and the horse betting racing system of PMU, plus they show LNR, or ligue nationale de rugby matches
The service is fast and friendly with great prices. Change of name in march 2013 from le Cargo to Bistro St Edouard. Same service.
Favorite Dish: we went a couple times, one we ate the formule for 12 euros with a fish in white sauce, and legs of pork, fries, and a drink, coffee for 1,10 extra. Great deal for the entire family
Another we went for cold beers, they have Heineken, Affligem, and 1664. service of the pint for four was 18€
This is the typical cafeteria grill place inside shopping centers in France. Some are in auto stops on the expressways and others are usually attached to shopping centers. This one is at the Centre Commercial Leclerc in Vannes ,the shopping center of my area, the biggest.
The cafeteria is open from 11h30 to 14h15 and 18h30 to 21h every day and now open on Sundays from 11h30 to 14h.
very friendly service we were serve more for same price !!! spacious and airy with terrase and children playground in the back. A place to be back with a family, good price/quality ratio.
Favorite Dish: We had boeuf bourguignone, spaghetti meatballs for some, and breast of duck for others, with a bottle of beaujolais nouveau red, bottle water Evian, sodas such as fanta and coca cola , desserts from natural fruits including kiwis, to passion fruit desserts, and coffee expresso for five persons for 88€! cant beat it.
wonderful historical place in a real tower, in a narrow street, with a courtyard right by the tower, open air amongst old walls, plus an area inside just in the basement of the street. Great service and ambiance, it rain and we had huge umbrellas covering us, the service continues all having fun, and laughter.
The food is good, prices nice for a tourist spot, we will be back, and I am sure you will enjoy it too
Needless to say we come here often and were reminder of the tip as we went back last night too, magical in the terrace surrounded by 14C towers. The terrace has been redone with woodteak deck and nice umbrellas.
Favorite Dish: galettes of st jacques, chorizos, and complet with ham and cheese, beers coffees, and ice cream for the whole family.
Ragauil with sausages from La Réunion, and more goat cheese, and the texan with ground beef like sloppy joe's if you know what I mean. banana split, belle helene, framboise melba, alexandrine crepe with nutella type chocolate, framboise with raspberry fruits, nice local breton beers ,cider, and coffees
the best views in Vannes over the pleasure boat port, great beers, food, and service. Ambiance of visitors and locals alike, my favorite.
have more in French at the dept Morbihan tourist page
well just went there with a visiting VTer leslieofTodd and you know it they change the name finally. I have heard something about the monolopy of having 3 properties in the pl de Gambetta, so the owners apparently decided to name the whole corner 3 into one Le Gambetta now. Still great friendly service and good food.
Favorite Dish: menu of the day and a grimbergen belgian beer, just do the trick: the menu of the day is a good deal price wise, plus the freshes ingredients for the day. You can have beef and seafood combinations as well as pizzas, and galettes bretons. Try several combi already and they are all good.
