    Boulangerie Bellanger: bakery at Bellanger

A very good bakery in my favorite spot at Vannes, the Place du poids public. The old square where all was weighted for paying taxes of medieval times, it is now a laberynth of stores and the best market in the area on Sat (see tip).

The bakery is small facing the street square and then a counter with all goodies behind it, breads and the nice 56! pain au figues, flûte gana breads, all done by master baker Stéphane Bellanger.

Another personal bakery disclose in VT. We come here every weekend to get our goodies for the week, all services are around it.

Open every day except Sundays , they are also available at the CC Carrefour of Vannes shopping center Under the Le Petrin Doré 9h to 20h at tel +33 02 97 63 51 18. The photos is from the one we go at place du poids public in old town Vannes.

What to buy: the figs bread or pain au figues, and the one with bacon and the gana flutes and baguettes all wonderful

What to pay: good prices baguette 90 cents and the flute gana at 1,20€ pain au figues 1,30€

    Leonidas: Belgian chocolates in Vannes

by gwened Written Nov 15, 2014

My first encounter with Belgian chocolates was in 1990 when stop in my wife town here in France and purchase a 500 grms box. It was an experience of incredible proportion, and it was a Leonidas store. I have continue to chase them all over, and over the years try all the name brands of Belgium.

The Leonidas store is in the Place des LIces here in Vannes, my favorite shopping area for its quaint medieval intact wooden homes all around you.

The store is small one small aisle and counters all around you, but the chocolats selection is grand and nice as always, try it.

It is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10h-13h and 14h-19h. And open at 9h30 on Wednesdays and Saturdays on market days. Like I was there today Sat am...

What to buy: ballotin or boxes of chocolates mix, from 125 grm to a kilo.

What to pay: the prices are right for the quality you get, enjoy Belgian chocolates

marché centre ville poids public: the best market in the Morbihan!

by gwened Written Sep 13, 2014

    I have other tips on market days here but this is the best in the Morbihan,after visiting many of them over the last few years, we are convince this one can rival a bit the ones of our old home in Notre Dame, Versailles;

Every Wednesday and Saturday mornings you have practically every nook and cranny of this old area full of merchants and folks from all over the region as well as tourists. The main areas are from Pl de la République by the post office cross the street into the rue le Hellec going down into the place du poids public and the place des Lices.

This couple with the fact that our favorite wine store Nicolas and bakery Boulangerie Bellanger, are in the Place du Poids Public as well as fish market, and nice crêperies, near the Le Port area and our shopping clothing area, makes a very nice family morning there very often.

The covered market at LIces is nearby too.

But the very best is here by the squares of lices and poids public from 8h to 13h30.

What to buy: we buy foods, and sometimes a sandal or two. t shirts, but for the most is food, the very best from the region.
fruits and vegetables from local farmers. Cheeses from local and Loire area. wines, and cider, olives, sausages, andouille, beefs cuts, fish and seafood. You name, breads, cakes, this is fresh and real French. Come on over.

What to pay: best prices direct from farmers and the real thing.

place du Poids Public and stands pl du poids public, left St Vincent right Lices pl du poids public towards pl des Lices the bounties we bought at this stand down rue Le Hellec

It has a Facebook site as so far very personalise, but do not post here as do not like to mix the two.sorry.

You come and will be glad you visit the store if into teas. Enjoy it.

What to buy: teas of course imports, and locals, and new creation by an expert staff

What to pay: best prices for the real thing

Chic & Belle: gorgeous unique for woman belle

by gwened Written Jul 13, 2014

A women fashion paradise open from Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10h to 19h, in summers open Sunday mornings. The other half just found a way to get me to city center :downtown Vannes....!!!

dedicated to women, and beautiful, it is the world of owner Nadine Bourchy, a shopkeeper who notably worked for 19 years, in Majorca. From this island, she imported Pearl Jewelry, and a very colorful, through a selection of clothing and accessories. On the fashion side , it has selected three French creators, including Anatopik (in exclusivity in Vannes), for which work several illustrators. This new boutique presents therefore t-shirts, small tops, etc., with fairy motifs, characters or comics... Bags or scarves are also offered, them as original, gay. The jewels are, however, various: paper recycled resin for girl and adult (guaranteed without lead and nickel) inspired by candy.

a sight to show the articles there, the dresses with tour eiffel are a must for visitors.
